Epochs and rewards

An epoch is a UTC day. At 00:05 UTC the previous day closes:

  1. Every stored share is checked again with one hash and deduplicated.
  2. Each address gets its weight: the sum of 2^(d - 28) over its valid shares.
  3. The budget is a seventh of the pool's free USDG (available() / 7), so the pool drips over about a week instead of emptying in a day.
  4. Each address receives budget × weight / total weight, rounded down; the dust stays in the pool.
  5. The Merkle root of (address, amount) is posted to the pool contract with postEpoch, claimable for 60 days.

Anyone can submit a claim for any address: the contract pays the address in the leaf, never the sender. The miner page lists your closed epochs and their claim buttons.

Where the USDG comes from

  • A seed sent by the network to the pool.
  • Buyers who pay for jobs (payJob on the pool): the payment goes into the pool and is paid out to the miners.
  • Once the $CHAM token exists, a cut of its fees, sent to the pool.

That is all. There is no promised rate: what a share pays depends on how much USDG is in the pool and how many shares the network found that day. With an empty pool, epochs still close and record the shares, and allocate nothing.
